Hi, I’m Oliver Pearson. I established Iter Consulting in 2020 to provide Commodities and Derivatives legal consultancy services to clients.

Before establishing Iter Consulting, I had been Senior Counsel for Goldman Sachs’ Global Markets and Commodities business in Asia- Pacific between 2010 – 2020. I was a Managing Associate at Linklaters and Counsel at Allen & Overy.

Derivatives

Strong derivatives experience across Macro, Equities, Commodities, Digital Assets, repos, securities lending, netting, collateral enforceability and standardized documentation.

Physical Commodities

Extensive experience of physical trading across the complex, including base metals, precious, LNG, crude & products, coal, power and agricultural commodities, both for international and domestic trade.

Regulatory

Preparation and training on compliance policies for Markets-related regulations (e.g. Market Abuse, Insider Trading). Frequent interactions with global regulators (e.g. CFTC, IOSCO and MAS) for OTC and Exchange-traded derivatives products. Conduct of regulatory surveys for clients across Asia-Pacific.

Skills Training

10 years of providing skills training for legal teams, focusing on building better client relationships; communicating more effectively; and leading successful teams.

Uniquely placed to help with 15 years of in-house experience

As an in-house counsel, I had always wanted my external legal service providers to be able to go further than simply answering my discrete legal questions. The answer to a question is only one small piece of providing a commercial solution to my institution.
